THE CREATOR
Ernesta Caviola is an architect and a photographer from Genoa. After her studies, she dedicates her doctoral thesis to The Destiny of Architecture. The Casabella Magazine 1930-36: the invention of Language for Images, where, inspired by the editorial chief of the period, Edoardo Persico, she points out the connection between architecture and photography. This relationship is the key to read her poetic intention. For the author, whether analogical or digital, photography is essential to architecture: it assumes the task of representing it initially and of interpreting it afterwards. In her photos, she represents sequences unitary, coherent, rigorous and yet imaginative.
